Museums in Germany?

Hello Everyone. I'm taking the family to Germany in a few weeks for a fun trip to visit with the wife's relatives. I'm planning on visiting Von Richthofen's resting place, but I'm also looking for any interesting WW1 aviation museums or related sites in Germany. Any come to mind?

Also, is Ernst Udet's gravesite easy to locate? I saw that it is in Berlin, and I'll do some more digging online. I just won't have a lot of time to spend searching a whole cemetery.

Thanks in advance!

If in Berlin, then Deutsches Technikmuseum.

Arrow Aviation related locations in Germany...

.
Hello DMax!

If you want to visit the grave of Manfred v. Richthofen in Wiesbaden (close to Frankfurt/Main) it would also be easy to visit the great museums in Speyer and Sinsheim. They are roughly 100 - 130 km southwards (a bit more than an hour on the "Autobahn"). They offer a lot for anyone interested in old technical stuff.

The Invalidenfriedhof is relatively easy to find (Scharnhorststrasse, 10115 Berlin, Germany) and is located about 2 km northwards of the Brandenburger Tor in the centre of Berlin. I've been there several times.

Some photos and interesting websites will follow within the next hours...

Hi DMax, aside from the Deutsches Technic Museum in Berlin, be sure to visit the Luftwaffenmuseum at Gatow also. There are a few Great War era airframes there, including an Avro 504, Etrich Taube, Fokker E III, Dr I and D VII, as well as the rest of the collection, which is rather large.

FYI, Ernst Udet's grave is not hard to find, as the Invalidenfriedhof is not that big. Udet has a simple marker (see attachment at left below). Ironically, Udet is buried head-to-head with WW II Luftwaffe ace Oberst Werner Mölders, who died in a transport aircraft crash while flying to Udet's funeral. As seen in the second attachment, Mölders gravestone is more ornate than Udet's -- perhaps because the younger man died more "honorably" (vs. Udet's suicide)?
