I've read your answers to some of my questions
and you always mention a past life...Who were you then. Please answer if you don't think I'm prying.
I'm interested on how you know. I know this is a little off track from the usual discussion. but i don't have a computer of my own.

Oh my, I knew sooner or later I would have to answer that question. To be very honest, I am nervous about saying. I am not ashamed of who I was by no means, but I was well known and I'm not sure if I'll meet up to the publics idea of what they think I was supposed to be. I was just guy that was very fortunate. I also don't want my past family to think that I want anything from them either, although I wouldn't mind having a good clear picture of my old girlfriend if they could manage that.

I would feel more comfortable showing you and anyone else interested the information I have gathered or remembered about that life and let you draw your own conclusions. When I have a chance, I will put up a web page with my complete remembered memories, which you could draw your own conclusions upon. I will tell you this much I was Prussian, I flew with Jasta 11, and I had been awarded the Pour le Merite, and I was very fond of the men that I flew with.

I'm not sure yet. I am in the process of trying to get some help in setting that stuff up. Right now, my home computer is unable to hook up to the Internet because my new apartment has no telephone service as of yet.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to be miserly in my information, but it would probably be better if you came to your own conclusions as to who I was. I'll talk to my computer buddy and see if I can start work on the page sooner.

Sincerely yours,
Rittm

In German and I will explain this to my best ability since I speak German very poorly, but they have two words for Captain. Hauptmann and Rittmeister. A Rittmeister is a captain of the cavalry. I would venture to guess that the word has it's origins in the word Ritter, which is a knight. Maybe one of the German fellows like Hannes can give you a better definition of the word. Does that help?
Rittm = abbrev. of Rittmeister

I think in this case the word 'Ritt' has something to do with riding.
