The poster is from WW1.The background boys are in WW1 uniform. Winston was not fat during WW1, therefore it is not Winston.

It is John Bull, and the garb is from the second or third decade of the 19th century. Pretty much like the clothing of Uncle Sam. It's too small to tell if John has bushy cheek whiskers. I need a better monitor.

I've got another war poster like that in clip art. I was thinking about sending it to Stephen. The one I have looks English, but I'm not sure.

Hi guys!

The fat guy is John Bull and running from memory
he had Mutton chop whiskers (these are whiskers that run down from the side of the face to the edge of or near to the lips).
Hope this helps.

Thanks, Les,
I was trying to remember the term "Muttonchops" and it kept escaping me....and "burnsides" came later on (thanks to a very inept Union general).
