DVII OAW cowl vents

What dictated the change between the half-round, deep-cupped side cowl vents, and the long thin slotted louver vents, on the Fokker D.VII engine side panels, on the O.A.W versions? Different engines?
Also looking for info on Fokker D.VII O.A.W. 4174/18. I've tried the search feature but come up empty?
