Five RAF-crew rescued 09/10-11-1918 North Sea
Dutch newspapers report the rescue of five crew members of a ditched British airplane in the North Sea off Ijmuiden, Holland, on 9/10-11-1918.
Names provided are Lt J. Freeman, Lt. J.H. Caudy, Lt. O.E. Coleman, Sgt. R.H. Thomas and mechanic L.A. Chrismans.
Their airplane was on a three-ship recce mission, but had developed engine problems. This was on 9-11-1918. Crew were brought ashore by two Dutch trawlers in the early hours of 10-11-1918 and a/c was sunk.
