Fokker D.VII Photo

Hello All,

Currently on ebay at :

Doppeldecker-Flugzeug Fok. DVII Albatros Belgien Tarn/Camo Kennung Flieger Ab 48 | eBay

is a photo of a Fokker D,VII (Alb) 6816/18. Anyone recognise the pilot or aware of the unit?

Regards,

Clint

Hi Clint,

Thank you very much for posting the link to this photo. It's a very nice photo, and has some great detail.

I don't know who the pilot was, but when I had a second look I noticed that the seller has stated that this Fokker D.VII is from Flieger Ab 48. I don't know how the seller gained this information, since there is no visible writing on the reverse of the photo.

Regards,

David.

Considering that 6810/18 (Knowlton) was captured at the factory, not yet delivered, could this be in allied hands and not in front-line service?

I agree, very nice photo with good detail.

Regards
John

Hello Both,

Thank you for the responses.David, I note that the same seller has other aircraft listed as FA 48. Although possibly this may be valid for the Roland C.II, seems a bit unlikely that at this stage of the war if, the aircraft delivered to an operational unit that it would not be a Jasta.

Interesting information John about 6810/18 and perhaps you are correct, it is post war and an Entente flier. Alas, I personally couldn't say not being familiar enough with flight gear of the respective nations. Does anyone have a view?

Regards,

Clint
