WWI airfield Stow Maries to be restored ...

The UK's last intact World War I airfield is to be completely restored, thanks to a campaign by a group of volunteers.

Enjoy!

Hi

I was at Stow Maries last Saturday as I was giving a talk (on Contact Patrols) for the Friends of Stow Maries Aerodrome (FOSMA). I was previously there in June 2011 giving a talk to another organization and the change in some of the buildings was great. All done by the volunteers and which they should be proud of. The old 'Airmen's Dining Room' has been turned into a lecture theatre space, cafe, shop and sitting area with 'WW1' objects hanging from the roof like a crewroom. Other buildings have been restored and 'equipped' and there is a small museum and a replica Sopwith Pup. It is worth a visit if you are in the area, but always check their website.
