Fokker A Errata

Having just got the Fokker Eindecker Compendium 1 by Josef Smith I have some information on the Fokker A series that I think might be of interest:

A195/14 with FFA 14 in Russia 1914-15

A223/14 with FFA 51 Russia

I believe Uffz Heiliganstadt and Ltn kroll were flying a Fokker a when they were forced down with engine trouble and taken prisoner 18 July 1915. As were Ostv p. wegner and Obltn H.H. Klevermann taken prisoner on 28 October 1915.

A 208/14 was with FFA 16 when the pilot Lange got lost and landed in Russian lines and the pilot and plane were taken prisoner.

A 205/14 served in FFA 16

A 191/14 served with FFA 27 then was transferred to another unit on 8.1.15

A 192/14 served in FFA 27 and on 15.2.15 was wrecked Ltn h Aly and Alfred Klemm were both KIC

Fokker A were also used by FFAs 40, 41, 42 57, 33, and with BAO

On 27 may 1915 Ltn A Rose was KIC Bav Fl ERs Abt or FEA 1B in one.

On 17 Jan 1916 Hpt E Kunz (O) of FFA 33 was in an air combat with a French 2 seater in one

Hallo James,

Vielen Dank for that wonderful additional info. Data on these early Eindeckers is very hard to come by and every little morsel is greatly appreciated! I'll be adding this to my own (not insubstantial) list of errata & addenda for the Compendiums, possibly to be included in future editions.

(damn, knew I shouldn't have changed my name....!)

In my book "Above Ypres" Fokker A198 from FFA 40 or 41 armed with four bombs is depicted in Rumbeke airfield during Winter 1914. It includes also another unidentified Fokker A who was flown by the famous Frankl from FFA 40

The first time I heard FFA 33 flew with Fokker A during Winter 1916. Great news. I thought The E version was then at the front units.
