Hey Anna-Karin,
the 'unfortunate' Albatros pilot was Leutnant zur See (something like 2nd. Lieutenant with the Navy)
Lothar Wieland (German-FAI licence #618). He was on a tour advertising the Albatros biplane. But he had not made a stopover during a cross-country flight, he gave public and official demonstration flights with the intention to sell that type to the Swedish army. If things happened to his expectations, he would not have returned with the machine, but rather come back with an additional order for Albatros aircraft.
Well, the war stopped these plans and I read the Swedish army eventually confiscated and/or bought his machine - and then started remake production with the SAF - Svenska Aeroplanfabriken (Gothenburg), NAB - Nordiske Aviatik Bolaget (Midsommarkransen) and Södertälje Werkstäder (also near Stockholm). As well the FVM - Flygkompaniets Verkstäder på Malmen (Malmö) built two new series of that type, from 1918 till 1929!
Cheers
Aquilius
