Dear all
I know it is not quite right to ask a question twice in the same forum, but celebrating ten years of an unsuccessful search for a quality picture of
Konrad Mettlich (see:
http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/pe....html#post6540) I dare to re-post my query and truly hope you will forgive me my desperate attempt.
If anyone has a picture of Konrad Mettlich of Jasta 8 which is good enough to reproduce a 9x13 cm copy for the alumni wall at my fraternity house in Muenster, Germany, I would be forever obliged if you could share it. Mettlich was a member and deserves to be there amongst his fellow buddies.
I know a portrait existed as it was displayed in a local newspaper in 1954 as part of an article about a street named after him, but there are only very poor micro-fiche versions left. Also there is a picture of his Jasta 8 which was published in one of Norman Frank’s books, but again not good enough for a reproduction. From the Jasta picture Thomas Crean has taken the picture in his book on
Werner Voss, but again, that’s too small for my purpose.
So any kind of help would be very much appreciated.
Also, Mettlich received the Hohenzollernkreuz in late 1917. Could someone please let me know what material of prove the aerodrome usually requires to add this decoration to Mettlich's profile on this site?
Thank you all very much in advance for your help!
Kind regards,
Timo Voelker
