I wish this filming technique would have been used in the Great War..
Hello to all,
I intended to post this here in this section, but I logged-in the Non-WWI Aviation and posted it there by a blunder, but nevertheless here it is, in its intended destination.
I wish this man's technique of filming would have been prevalent by the time of the Great War. I know this color footage predates the Great War, but thought it may be of some interest.

There should be maybe someday someone can make a movie.

It's a form of digital colourisation.
It can be applied on any kind of black and white film.
I doesn't actually, reveal any colours...nice but not so impressive.

Hi elephant,
The original film had separate images for the red, green and blue values of each frame. The digital processing used, was simply combining the red, green and blue images for each frame. This is not some arbitrary colorization. The colors may not be perfect, but they should be a reasonable approximation.

There's a short film of Prokudin-Gorsky's 1905-1916 photos on youtube worth a watch :

Thanks for sharing the short film!
I have always found Prokudin-Gorsky's photos so fascinating and valuable. For there ability to take a World that we have only seen through black and white and know through artifacts, locations, descriptions and stories, and then, take and transform it into a world of full color that’s puts an ability to relate and a Life and Humanity to that period, that is very hard to find.
