Smile unknown item found

Hello, I'm new to this site so please bear with me.

I have an item with the name ReneTAMPIER on it. Looks like it could possibly be some kind of throttle from an old aircraft. It has a gear in it that moves a control back and forth across a scale of numbers ranging from 0 to 10. Any ideas anyone.

Yes, that sounds like an engine control for a rotary engine. Can you post Photos? Would you like to sell it?

Photos are really important to identify things otherwise you often get just a shot in the dark that may be correct or it may not. Let us know if you need help figuring out how to post a photo.
