Thumbs up Wow!

I've been after this book for awhile, bit out of my league at nearly four hundred quid though! Why is it so expensive, and does the author write on this Forum?

Hello Tommy,

It doesn't have to be so expensive.

high in the empty blue - AbeBooks

Alex Revell was a member, but is "shot down".

Alex Revell

Dear people,
Alex is very much alive and thankfully, as far as our last email doing quite well, I do not know the details of why he is no longer allowed to post at this forum, so I cannot comment .
But I for one am grateful that such a wonderful historian is still alive and writing.
In fact , look for two chapters by him in next years book release of Steve Anderson's aviation art book !!

This book is one of the siminal Histories of an Elite Squadron & is celebrated as one of the great WW1 aero books.
A shortend version is available as one of the Osprey Elite Aviation Unit Books History of 56 Sqd RFC/RAF.
Yes Alex Revell is alive & well & visits the Great War in the Air Forum but at present is off enjoying a Cruise.

Hello Stoney and Felix C.

Alex' last activity here was in July last year. After that he was shot down (= banned). http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/me...ex_revell.html

Just like Jastaflieger mentioned, I also don't know the reason why he
isn't allowed to post here anymore.

Regards,

Jos
