The plans are fantastic. They are very detailed and exact scale as far as I know. I also had the laser cut parts and they were real nice. I got the plane halfway finished but sold it to another guy.

I've gotten into 1/3 scale and I kind of wish I had the plans again. If I were to build an SE5a in 1/3 scale I would enlarge those plans.

What size engine does it need? Can a gas engine fit in it...say maybe G-38 or something along those lines?
What is the projected weight?

Finished weight would be around 18 lbs. or so. A G-38 would be just right.

Holman's plans are very good. Dennis Bryant gives the option to build the fuselage in two halves. I also sold mine before finishing it. You will find the details can be overwhelming. Holman also sells a brass fittings set for it. Makes a beautiful model. You can also use the Mick Reeves Camel fittings and flat rigging wire and fork ends. Making the RAF wires can be a challenge.

Same thing happened to me.I had a Proctor/DHutson SE5A and about half way thru or better ,i sold it.It was a overwhelming project at the time.Wish i had kept it now. That's been about 8 years ago.
