Metallurgical Material Samples Needed - Mercedes D III

Hello to All,

I am looking for metal samples of the Mercedes D III (Daimler F1466) for a metallurgical analysis. Very small samples would be needed for mass spectrometric analysis - I am looking for the crankcase in particular. If you have any shavings from a recent overhaul, or know of some from any museum displaying this flugmotor (i.e. they bored out the crankcase for visibility).

Sample sizes required would be very small, on the order of a few milligrams.

I do have some reliable data from a good source (and a great person to boot ) but wish to look for impurities and any other trace elements. This is for a project relating to this motor.

I thank you in advance,

Greg
