Reddish-Brown Camouflage on LVG C.VIs, etc.
I'll be starting my WNW LVG C.VI soon and was rereading "LVG C.VI at War" yesterday. The monograph notes that many, many of the C.VIs' fuselages were oversprayed with a reddish-brown hue. Many years ago I tried to duplicate this by addiing a touch of red and a touch of brown to some clear gloss, though I cannot remember the proportions I used. What do the rest of you do to get to a reddish-brown fuselage? If you do as I did 20-odd years ago, what proportions and particular colors do you use? That is, so many drops of red and so many drops of brown to a color cup? Or do you mix separately in some formula and blend, then pour into the color cup?
