Hasegawa 1/8 Sopwith Camel
I have been working on this kit for about 3 months. I have about 500 hours into it so far. It has been quite a project. There have been quite few surprises. I found that if you try to build the kit following the instructions, you can not do so. There are steps that need to be done in a different order. Study those instructions very carefully before you start. I found myself jumping around the booklet & it has worked out well, so far.

Welcome to the 'drome, Surfjunke. Your labor has sure paid off. She's on her way to being a true museum piece. I would love to do one of these if they were still available and didn't cost as much as my truck payment.

Surfjunke,
Welcome to the Aerodrome my friend.Wonderful work on your Camel, truly an amazing kit. Please keep us posted as to your progress on this project.I'll be looking forward to following this thread thoughout. Are you planning on fully covering your Camel or possibly one side?Even just the bare airframe and wings would still be outstanding.
Regards,
Gregory Jouette

Hi Welcome to the Drome ! nice stuff.500 hours in 3 months that's great.A lot of those open frame instruction booklets have problems with sequence of build and they never seem to correct the mistakes for some reason.Good luck, send lots of pics.

Thank you for the comments. Paul, Great job on the DH-2. I would like to see your sight with your other builds.
I will leave the Camel uncovered. It will go into a custom built coffee table!

That sounds like a cool idea ! Uncovered is best ,why go to all that work only to cover it up.You may also want to consider only covering half like Ken Foran did.

I like the idea of 1/2 covered - that way if you make a mess of a join or something you can choose that side to cover ha ha!
