Army Flying School at Doeberitz, Germany 1915-1916
Mates,
Does anyone have any info on the German Army Flying School at Doeberitz, Germany 1915-1916 time frame. (i.e. what flying units, personnel, aircraft utilized, etc.)
Anything at all would help. Books would help lead the way.
Thanks in advance.

Tom
I.ve done a cursory search but have come up blank. Very few passing references. I mentioned this once to a staff member at, if I recall correctly, the Technical Museum in Munich and they mentioned that they had documentation on Doeberitz. I unfortunately never had occasion to follow up, but I am sure there are German archival resources available.
Sorry not to be of more help.

Hello tcrean,
Just for the record - there is a book:
Flugplatz Döberitz. Geburtsort der militärischen Luftfahrt in Deutschland by Kai Biermann and Erhard Cielewicz,
Christoph Links Verlag, Berlin, 2005,
ISBN 3-86153-371-5.
Unfortunately, despite its promising title, the book describes a general history of the German military aviation rather than detailed history of the place. You cannot find the information you are looking for, I am afraid. It looks like Döberitz still awaits its annalist.
Regards
Marek

Hi Marc,
do you mean the Deutsche Museum respectively the Flugwerft in Schleißheim?

Rainer

Rainer, you are right. That would be the Deutsche Museum. But I have not been to Schleissheim.
