Thanks to the efforts of Baldeagle, we were donated this airplane about 6 years ago. After multiple troubleshooting sessions, The issues we encountered with the engine were finally narrowed down. Below are the pictures after replacing three of the cylinder barrels and rings and honing the 4th. we also went through and re-adjusted the valves and added an Ellison Throttle Body, which will hopefully alleviate some of the carburetion issues with the long runner added between the Hobson carb and the intake. We were able to use the standard Tiger Moth throttle linkage and added a mixture cable.
We will be adding some sort of an air filter next.

Any Landing you can walk away from is a good landing, BUT a truly Great landing, is one in which you can immediately re-use the airplane!
The Ellison throttle body did not work as well as we'd hoped, so I reinstalled the original Hobson. Friday June 9 Paul hopped the airplane and the engine seemed
OK. So Saturday 6/18 I hopped the airplane a few times. Everything checked out so I flew the Rumpler for the 1st time in 2 years. So far so good. A second test flight that same day concluded all was OK so after one or two more test flights I think this airplane will fly reliably again...
Hope to have it flying at the Ww1 weekend.
