WWI German Halberstadt CL IV Lozenge Fabric
Is anyone interested in buying lozenge? I figured this would be a great place to sell this lot of (22 square feet) of lozenge, (4ft by 4ft) piece and (2ft by 3ft) piece, rib, spare rib, and rib jig came from the top wing of a Halberstadt CLIV!!!!!
WWI German Halberstadt Lozenge Fabric Guaranteed Authentic!!!! My pieces (which are composed of tight woven linen fabric) of lozenge, rib, spare rib, and rib jig came from the top wing of a Halberstadt (from the Schlachtstaffel 21 squadron) from the Ken Hyde and Senator Stan Perish collection of Halberstadt CL4s that were purchased from Paul Ernst Stralis (WWI Albatros Fighter Pilot). The Schlachtstaffel 21 squadron is known to have engaged elements of the U.S. Army's 94th and 95th Aero Squadrons in mid-July1918 during the Chateau Thierry campaign. Later these Halberstadts were restored (22 years ago) and placed on display at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum (Washington DC), United States Air Force Museum (Dayton, Ohio), and the Museum fur Verkehr und Technik (Berlin, Germany). The fabric I have is in beautiful condition: You can see that the clear lacker was hand brushed on due to its slight opaq color (from age of course). Two types of rib tape were used, one was cut from silkscreen lozenge fabric, and the other was white (which was painstakingly hand painted to perfectly match each lozenge)(I've never seen anything like that: hand painting to match pattern). Every 2 to 4 inches is a cut under the rib tape w the stiching was removed in order to detach the fabric from the wing ribs. On the outside of the fabric in a few various places t are 2 inch stensiled black numbers (more than likely these were used for technical or mechanical reasons). Overall, this lozenge fabric is the most historically revealing piece in private hands due to the afore mentioned details. I originally had two 4ftby4ft pieces (32 square feet), but I have gotten rid of 10 square feet. I now only own one (4ft by 4ft) piece, and a (2ft by 3ft) piece (22 square feet) of German Halberstadt Lozenge Fabric. I paid a large sum for these pieces 25 years ago, and the only other known Halberstadt Lozenge Fabric resides in museums, not in private hands. In order to ask questions, please call my cell # (Manfred Jackson) 719-440-0450. This is a "Priceless Piece of History" that will sell out fast. This WW1 German Halberstadt Lozenge Fabric is the only of it's kind in private hands!!!! Check out http:/lozenge.html for some info on 1914-1918 Lozenge fabric. I saw fabric of this type selling in Sporty's a long time ago for $200.00 for 2 square inches and they sold out of it very quickly. Think about the profit you can make if you buy it and then sell square inches ($100.00 a square inch).
