Good morning to all! I'm new here, I hope to find some friends with my same passion here....no doubt!
My thread is a bit difficult I think:
I'm an owner of a rare piece of skin from a floatplane downed in front of venice in the early morning of August 14th,1917. It's u.f.a.g. K228 , probably a Lohner, like pics where it's shown the K366. I saw a thread on K222 that made me think it's the same type of plane, but I want to know somwthing more or have some pics more than those I post here.
The skin in my possession has been cut off by a pilot of italian floatplane from PORTO CORSINI that landed next his victim in the morning of 14th august 1917 to made this souvenir from the war.(he cuts and wrote on the side clear from varnish this italian translation: "downed in the morning of 14 august 1917 in front of venice", the skin reported the script: K.288 in typical german-hungarian shape, made by stencil and spoon with black ink.
sorry, lbut no picture..... is in my possession by few hours!
any any any any news, reported items, or pictures will be very much appreciated, and thanks again to aerodrome for the opportunity to salute all plane lovers in the forum!!!! thanks again and..... all will be very appreciated!
ciao!
