Fokker Dr.I 425/17

Hello friends.

Here is my one week quick build, Eduard 1/48 scale dreidekker. It was meant to be finished on this date, as you all know, today came 93 years from death of MvR. This wasen't meant to me so quick build, but spring flu came to disturb my modelling. Well still I managed to finish this one in time. Build pretty much OoB, only couple of detail additions to engine and cockpit. Painted with Tamiya acryls and water mixable oil paints. This ain't perfect, but I like it. Hope you do also.

Cheers Mikko

Like the laminated look of the propeller - I have tried that - and failed.

Thanks Gman! Trick is to use very htin masking tape. 0,4mm to 0,7 mm. First light colour, tape and then dark colour. Clear cote and let it dry. Then brush oil colour(raw umber or brunt umber) over propeller and then wipe it away. Then clear coat after oil colour have dried. If you want you can use mixture of Tamiya clear yellow and clear orange to chance shade. Try and error. Sooner or later you find it

It's a beauty Mikko. The red is perfect and that laminated prop is excellent. I hope I can do mine as well as that. Thanks.
Peace.
