Wnw lvg vi

RE-8 almost done...I just can't stop with these kits! Here's my first attempt at the oil paint/woodgrain effect.

All the new WNW kits effectively derailed my 2011 model-building plan, which was heavily weighted in favor of WW2 and some modern stuff...not any more!!

Your first attempt looks great! This is really a great kit, the only thing is the lozenge can get rather tedious, but it is a really fun build.

Best

Looking really good so far, Tim. Glad to see that you're hooked on WWI modeling.

Last time I was really into it was late 70s...Monogram had started re-releasing/upgrading a lot of those old Aurora kits. But everything was 1/48th, apart from the three 1/28th kits (Spad, Camel Dr1).

WNW has really reawakened something in me with all of this...

I am like you. The last time I was into WWI a/c was the mid 70's. Aurora stuff was still around and at that time the only stuff around in 1/48 (IIRC) yes, Monogram had recently re-released and upgraded the Aurora kits.
The Roden release of teh 1/32nd DRI is what did it for me, WNW just put it over the top. Great stuff.

Best
