The Kettering Aerial Torpedo

All,

I'm not sure if this go here or in the 'Models' forum, but I'll start here. I'd like to scractchbuild a 1/48th scale model of the Kettering Bug (or Aerial Torpedo). I think I've mined the web for everything it has (I could be wrong though) and am looking for anything else that might be out there in print or things I've missed on the web.

Anyone know of some good walk-arounds (especially the aft end of the aircraft) or some drawings better than these?

Are there magazine articles that detail the aircrafts development?

Thanks for any guidence.

Hello Art;
You may already know this (or not). I "think" there is a replica of the Kettering Aerial Torpedo, at the Cradle of Aviation Museum, on Long Island. I had a whole bunch of original parts for one, and traded them to the museum back in the 1970s. I think those original parts were on display, alongside the replica, last time I was there. Must be a lot of foum members up there, who could take some photos for you, IF one is on display there.

Flickr always gives pictures, like this.

There is even some original footage at [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNO84yh2ZxY"]YouTube - Kettering Bug Aerial Torpedo[/nomedia]. very interesting a fascinating historical reel

There is also contemporary footage of a museum replica, which can be found at [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhBMokcQgx0&feature=related"]YouTube - WWI - The Kettering Aerial Torepdo Bug Narrated by Sue Craven[/nomedia].

Kettering bug at Air Force museum

Factsheets : Kettering Aerial Torpedo ?Bug?

They have one of these things down the road from me at the Air Force museum. It used to be hanging in an exhibit where you pushd a button an it started a motor that turned the propeller.
