RAF/Flying wire installation standards

In my endless quest to pay attention to small details that mean nothing, was there a British RAF/RFC/RNAS standard for flying wire installation, i.e., were the right handed clevises always on the top or bottom, inside or outside?

Since I bought these damn expensive things I might as well put them on as they were.
