Need Sikorsky S-16 control diagram...

Anyone have any information on the controls of the S-16? I'm working on a Russian resin kit, and it has a control column with steering wheel, but there is a large pully mounted on the floor in front of the control column. Wondering if the control lines would run from the column, forward to this pully and back around the pully to go unde the seat to the rear of the plane to work the horizontal stabilizers... any info would be helpful.
thanks
Dave

Hello Dave,

I do not have any professional diagram but I think I figured out how it could work.

Here is a photo published in a very good book Sikorsky S-16 by Vadim Mikheyev. It is obvious to me that there were two pairs of control cables running from the control column.

- first pair marked with 3 – to the pulley (marked with 1) placed in the forward part of the fuselage,
- second pair marked with 2 directed back.

Here is a sketch, simplistic of course, depicting how it looked like in my opinion. Sorry for the poor quality but I am not an artist.

I hope this helps a bit.

PS. Actually, I suspect there were two pulleys placed in tandem. The second one was beneath the ammo box. However, I think you do not have to complicate your work.

Regards

Marek

Thanks Marek, I have that same book but missed the detail of the wires until you pointed it out. so there were two wires going around the big pulley, probably with a divider in the middle forming a 2 grooved pulley.
That's how i will build it.
