I am currently building three 1/72 Airfix Sopwith Pups. Tonight I painted the wood and metal panels on all of the fuselages, and handbrushed several coats of Future on the subassemblies. I hope to begin assembly tomorrow after some touch up.
Terri...no fit issues. The floor board and bulkhead were scratched as was the control stick. P/E rudder pedals were used. If you ever build one be aware that the collar that surrounds the prop plug is a little too long, and needs to be sanded BEFORE inserting the prop plug. This oversized collar forces the engine forward, and the cowling will NOT fit. Other than that (so far) the kit is a snap to build.
Terri: 30 bucks??!! Thats robbery!! I just bought two at a model show in the original bubble pack for $2 ea. The third one I bought at a show last year for $4. I feel bad telling you that, but $30 is way too much for this old kit. I have a feeling that sooner or later Airfix will re-release all of these older kits. They seem to be reworking all the WW2 molds and should get to the good stuff soon.
Nice work on these little gems, Kaiser Bill. Thank you fro showing - you have just reminded me I have two more of them in my stack. Let me just finish that monstrous 32nd scale Roden's SPAD...
