WW1 Fire engines

Hi,
I'm after some advice. Not sure if I am posting in the correct part of the forum or not.

I'm trying to find any information on fire engines/tenders and fuel bowsers that may have been used on airfields during the great war.

Can anybody help or provide me with any pointers?

Thanks

Hello Biggles&Co,

Welcome to the Aerodrome.

I don't know much about fire engines or fuel browsers of the the period, but would imagine that anything pre 1914-1918 would be safe to go with.
There are fotos and resin models of fueling carts.

Bienvenue has a fuel cart in 1/32" scale.

While I didn't find it, you can contact them from this site.

Cheers, Jay

Thanks Jay! Very interesting. I managed to find it on the website.

Does anybody know of any other sources of airfield accessories for the WW1 era?

Hippo Models used to have some resin models in 1/72 & 1/48

They no longer appear on the website but some shops may still have them.

Check out Misterkit in Italy:
MisterKit

British refueling set available in 1/72 and 1/48 scales

German refueling set available in 1/48 but sold out in 1/72

Fire pump is sold out in both scales

Happy Modelling

Here is a photo of the assembled fire pump from Modelimex.com (who are unfortunately out of stock):

Looks like this shop in Italy has them all:

I've also found that RPM have in their range, models of various Mack Bulldog trucks and a model T ambulance.
I'm building up a picture of what is available now

I have some pics I took of a firehose cart in the Hendon RAF Museum.
I posted them on the Walkarounds page on my site:
