Ron Lowry - The Great War Scratchbuilt Types (II)

Bonjour encore mes amis!

The next Great War type to be built by Ron was a Roland D.VI 'round about 1966.

Yes, that lozenge scheme and that on the Albatros D.V of the previous post were hand painted!

It must have been about 1968 when my father reached the final stage of scratchbuilt wooden 1:72 scale replicas with the Morane-Saulnier AI of MSP 156 which remains a lovely wee model.

So there, initial postings at the Aerordrome of the relevant works of Ron Lowry ... hope you all enjoyed the view.

Salut!
Kirk

DITTO!

I like them all, but I am partial to the L.F.G. Roland D.VI and the Morane-Saulnier AI of MSP 156.
The Roland is a favorite of mine as well as the M-S, I even like the M-S BB.

Thanks again for sharing these works of art with us.

Cheers, Jay

Thumbs up

Very cool.
I love to see the hand painted Lozenge and 1/72 scratched in wood!!! And at the time with little (and very hard to find) reference material. An impressive reminder of the state of WWI modelling of not-so-long-ago.

And what great examples... they look in such good condition.

thanks for sharing.

Merci mes amis for all of the kind words.

I am very proud of the models my father built and will be happy to post more.

Thank you in particular Ed for the encouragement to share with our friends here at The Aerodrome.

Salut ...
