So I've found articles to scale aeroplane models that go way way back and reference the Wright Brothers and others building models far before those first flights...Even a heated rivalry between Britain and America over the "correct" rules for "flying sticks"...
Sure but what is the earliest example of a
scale model of military aircraft used in active service?
Well there's an old Collins-Hancock model which was a military scout type but I don't know if it ever was used in the war.
So the earliest I found so far was a 1915 example of a Morane-Saulnier
Which, I have to say has a pretty sharp, look given at best they had only had plans from a magazine or newspaper. Cool.
Anyone else have information about these original WWI scale modellers? Other early or earlier examples?
