Don't think you have anything to worry about Albbie , Eduard will continue releasing these two kit's . Would like to see the sopwith tripe re-released though .....

Have they really sold the molds or just leased them or perhaps produced kits for Revell to pack?

Anyway, you can also buy just the PE from Eduard, since they have an aftermarket set for both of the kits!

Has anyone seen these Revell boxings yet? Dr.1 seems to have markings for 425/17, but what else?

Mikko

if someone gets the revell let us know if the plastic is the typical tan eduard stuff or if its revell plastic which is more brittle.
and terri i dont remeber where but i thought i read some one bought the tripe molds and was gonna start making them. it was a small east euro company if i rem right.

Hi Mikko
I have both Kits . The DrI alternative is for Ludwig Beckmann's A/C
Jasta 6 March 1918 . Interesting, as his personal markings appear to be overpainted over a Lightning flash , indicating prior service with another Pilot
The Kit is molded in garish red plastic . Colour call out for Beckmann's A/C
is "Sea Green " , which should be Streaked fabric I suspect
The Albatros DV has Markings for Kissenberth's A/C and the "Silbergrau" DV of Udet
At £10.99 each in the UK , they are cheaper and more readily available then the Eduard W/E boxings and offer alternative markings

Cheers

Terry,
Beckmann's Dr.1 with the overpaint is featured in vol. 2 of the Jasta 5 books from Windsock. It has a nice profile and indicates that this machine passed through at least 3 pilots, and their markings.

At least I think it's that book. I was contemplating doing this scheme on a Roden tripe...it's so scrungy and weathered!

Hello Terry McGrady,

Welcome to the Aerodrome.

Thanks for the intel.

Is the plastic brittle as Albatros1234 asked?
The Red color indicates to me that it probably is.
I always prefered painting over lighter colors myself.
How many coats of White must one paint over a Red Albatros or Dr.I?

CURSE YOU RED REVELL!!!!

Cheers, Jay aka FOKKERJ

P.S. Thank you Andrew for the heads up on this one!
