Could this fabric be genuine?

Purported to be a piece of fabric from a Jasta 11 aircraft--probably that of Ltn Max Festler, who was shot down on 11 Aug 1918 near La Chapellette. Measures 18" x 22"

Any help provided will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Photos of front, back, and closeups to measure thread count (small divisions are 1/16 inch.)

Hmmm........???

Hi tally-ho:
Examining what is available, thread count is 68 per inch? should be 50. You can check yourself, the thread count should be 50 x 50 yarns per inch. Both warp and filling yarns should be the same size(denier).
Doped fabric taken of an airplane would not have a rumpled lumpy surface as this piece of fabric does, There should be a clear dope under the red.and under the white edge of the cross. The white does not look like paint, lacquer or dope. If the outer surface was clear doped, the red, black and white would not show through.
The long length of the cross arm precludes this fabric coming from a fuselage of a Fok.D.VII. There is no evidence of stitching that would indicate it came off a wing. There should be rib stitching be evident as well as rib tapes. I cannot see either in these photos. You look for rib tapes or stitching.
If the black and white were a bands that circled around the fuselage, then this could be from a fuselage and would not have rib stitching or tapes that would be on a wing.
From What I can determine, it does not look real to me, I think it might be a fake.
Lastly, Ltn. Max Festler, did serve in Jasta 11 and he was shot down and KIA on 11 August 1918. That is a fact.
Blue skies tally-ho,
Dan-San
