Movie Now Available on DvD

Dear Forum mates, I just ordered the movie "Brown vs. MvR" on DvD from Edward R. Hamilton, Bookseller. The cost is $7.95 plus $3.50 postage. I have never seen this flick, having been stationed in some hell hole when it was released. I can't wait to see the flying since many of you all commented on its quality. VR, Scott Price

Tried to tell the story with a low budget, an over aged MvR with long hair, and some of the Blue Max aircraft.

Personally, I preferred 'Return of the Red Baron' with Mickey Rooney, a good "3 Beer Movie".*

* Best view consuming 3 beers.

Scott,

I had just finished watching it for the first time all the way through this past weekend on my cable "on-demand" section. I was bored! Over the years I've seen "bits and pieces" of the movie, but couldn't finish watching it due to the "Hokiness". I do agree the flying seens are excellent, but VON RICHTHOFEN and BROWN is WW1 movies' answer to Ben Affleck's PEARL HARBOR. FWIW!

Buzz,

You need to check out 'Return of the Red Baron' wherein the spirit of MvR inhabits a modern day (early 1990's) RC Dreidecker belonging to a teen whose grandpa, yes, had shot down MvR (Rooney). Worth a chuckle or two, especially with the 3 beers. Lorraine Newman, from early SNL days is the boy's mother. The animated RC pilot is a fine example of early pre-CGI animation.

We Have A Winner!

Maybe we have stumbled on a replacement for waterboarding. I'll let you all know what I can make of the "plot." VR, Scott

Oh, now, it's not as bad as Dustin Hoffman's stinker, Ishtar. Almost, but not quite ;>

THAT's too bad, as it is mostly rubbish! My advice is to get yerself a subscription to Netflix fer $10 a month, and you can watch ALL of these different movies and THEN decide which one you want as a part of your personal collection... Glad to hear you are no longer stationed in a hellhole (I've been in a few myself!)

A Few Diamonds Scattered in the Manure

Aside from four years at Fort Carson and three at Schofield Barracks it seems that somebody high up put me on the official hell hole tour. VR, Scott
