Hello,

Just to see if one of you guys has more info than the "normal" people. Can anyone identify this fellow?

Let's help you a bit and say that he ended the war serving with Flieger-Abteilung 207.

The gentleman appears to be wearing the uniform of a Naval officer with the observers badge. Nice awards array as well.

It's just his best suit he's wearing (he was a vicar after the war). He's nothing to do with navy...

Hi,

No navy indeed.

Familiar face, I think I saw the man again during WW II ... rather famous

He was absolutely not a famous person in WW2. As I said, after the war he was a vicar in a small village in Germany.

Let's help a bit more: he started the war in Husaren-Regiment 4, was made prisoner on the Eastern front in 1915 (heavily wounded) and released from captivity as an invalid in 1916. He volunteered for the airforce in 1917 and served with Armee-Flugpark 5, Schutzstaffel 15 and Flieger-Abteilung 207.
