Handley Page Bomber crash

This photo I think is of a crashed Handley Page bomber.
Maybe in the bone yard to be robbed for parts?
Todd

Hi Todd,

It certainly is a Handley Page. It's hard to know if it crashed into the hanger, or as you suggested more likely it has been moved there and is awaiting dismantling for use as spare parts. It looks more than a little too far gone to be repairable but who knows?

That's a very nice photo Todd! Thanks for sharing it!

Regards,

David.

Hi Todd; My guess is that this Handley-Page was the victim of a wind storm or squall. The way it's rolled up resembles many other such wind storm damaged planes. The barracks next door is not touched by the event it seems, so it did not run into the building. Thanks for the look-see. FM

Hi Frederick,

You are probably right. It certainly looks as though it has been rolled across the grass, and I was wondering how that wing became folded under the aeroplane like that.

Regards,

David.
