Alex Imrie in the Hospital

Listed in another thread Alex Revell had informed us of Alex. I thought everyone should know this so I started a new thread.

Quote:
For anyone who might be interested, Alex is in hospital at the moment and not very well at all.
From me personally I have never meet or talked to Alex but he has some of the biggest influence in my research from all his hard work that he's done. I wish one day to meet and talk to him. I hope he gets better soon and he will be in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Alex Revell,

If you have a chance please let him know our wishes to him.

Lloyd...

Indeed I second those wishes---the more so as I have only just come home myself from three weeks in Hospital with an abscess in Bowels which has resulted in some poking and slicing ---with more to come in about four weeks---assuming no bursting and poisoning.

I was, as they say, very poorly, and sympathise with any one in hospital at Xmas and New year.

Please tell that bandy little Scot we can't have him laying about the hospital and wooing nurses. Too many articles and too and books to write.

Best wishes and you owe me a letter.

Alex Revell may have a bit of a problem passing on our wishes, as Alex Imrie is in a hospital way up north in Scotland while Mr. Revell lives in the southern end of England. Nonetheless, I hope Alex Imrie knows somehow we're all thinking of him.

Alex Imrie is a veteran of 2 1/2 years in the army during WW II, so he's already fairly advanced in years. He learned to fly at the Edinburgh Flying Club on Tiger Moths in 1948. Later, in 1950 he joined the RAF Volunteer Reserve, and began to fly professionally in 1952 flying a DeH 84 "Dragon". He later flew the DC3, Vickers Viking, Avro York and Canadair C-4 all over the world. It was during his residence in Germany from 1954 into the 1960's that he used the opportunity to meet many WWI German aviators, and began his research that so many of us have benefited from.

He's been a huge influence in my own life, and I'm glad and proud to call him a friend.

God bless, Alex, and we all hope that you get well soon.

Talking

Mates,
Alex please pass on my wishes to Alex for a speedy recovery and I hope he gets better soon and he will be in my prayers. God speed.

Even though I have never met the man, he has had a profound effect on the way that I reasearch a subject - A very good teacher from afar.

Regards,
