Audacious Pilot I think
Good morning.
On April 25th, 1918 at 5 hours 20 of the morning, a German plane attacks a balloon of the French 32nd company of balloonist on the soil in Opticar, the ballon was burnt down and the plane slaughtered by machine guns on the soil. He crashed in the marsh of the region of Vakuf Egri. The pilot was killed. I find audacious his attack, because obviously he was alone and the ballon on the soil. His name is normally Schott Heinrich (Thank you David) - Jasta 25 and this is his first victory i think.
I research information about him.
Thank you for your assistant if you have this in your archives.
Bobrah.

Good morning and thank you.
I do not know if I will have an answer, but otherwise it is only to know the date and his place of birth, his course in the first world war (infantry, artillery). He had to be under the orders of the ACE Fieseler Gerhard.
I do not know if it is possible to find by Internet of German archives on the pilots. But if a German comes here, and knows little.
Finally it is not either very important, if I have an answer I would be happy.
Thank you and good day to all.
Bobrah.

Hello Bobrah,
I have only little information from the Jasta Pilots-book:
Born on 27 May 1891 in Gitra(?*)
Injured in a landing accident on 21 September 1917.
The balloon on 25 April 1918 was his frist and only kill.
*Have not found a city in Germany with this name in the internet, but maybe it is in Slesia or East Prussia.
Regards
Rainer

Hello and thank you Rainer.
It is very well as information, I can locate now his age and a little of his past. For the city I will look.
Balloons in the sky were already well under protection of the gunners, then a balloon in earth. Audacious!!! I do researches on victories on balloons in Macedonia - Serbia.
Thank you still.
Warmly.
Bobrah.

I have additional information, which is maybe also on interest for you:
His rank was Vizefeldwebel. He was one of only two KIA-losses of Jasta 25. Jasta 25 was credited with the destruction of eight balloons.
It´s from the same book.
Rainer

Thank you Rainer.
It's nice.
All that touch aviation in balkans (and the west too) represents of interest for me. At the moment, I copy of French archives victories, then I would make a cross-checking by dates.
It is not the subject of the message, but for example at the moment I also research French victories with the system of rockets "Le Prieur" (Inventor : Le Prieur Yves) against german balloons. Two mechanics-specialists of this weapon system were arrived at Saloniki 25 october 1916 from France to put this system on planes Nieuport and Farman.
Warmly.
Bobrah.
