Hi Rick and Mosen and others..
Mosen, that photo could be a vital "evidence", Have you opportunity to check if this von Roques(presumly Joachim) is among the flyers on page 41 in Propellerblatt Nr 1 from 2001...?
Joachim von Roques was born 22 Apr 1891, do anyone has his place of birth..?
He started his service in 1914 in SFS(Sea Flying Station) Holtenau but was already chosen to take the command(?) of the SFS stationed on the German Air battle-ship-cruiser "Answald" in Jan 1915..
Already on 2 May 1915 he was promoted to Oblt zS but was captured by the Russian in late Oct 1915....does anyone knew the actual date, his companion, a/c serial or the circumstances which brought him down..????
When returning from captivity in spring 1918 his fysical condition ought to have been rather low...
But I think there is a possibility that he served shortly or in some way in See I at Seebrügge in late spring and summer 1918...but I cant find any clear notes that he served there yet...must searched through my notes better...grmp.. :P
Rick, the other von Roques, Helmuth(O) most certain never served in Seebrügge according to my notes...
If I remember correct from the KTB(War Diary) of SFS Borkum he served there until EOW...
But there is always a possibility that he made some visits in Seebrügge...
Helmuth was born two Years later on 14 April and was promoted Oblt on 25 Dec 1917...
Anyone who can help with information on these two von Roques are welcome..!
Gunnar
