Lt Charles Gordon Bayly, RFC 5th Squdrn

A career soldier in the RE, started flying at Upavon in May '14.

To France on Aug 12 , Amiens, then Mauberge

Killed with 5th Squdrn in Avro 504 No 390 over Enghien Rassily on 22nd Aug 1914 - reportedly the first sign to the Germans that the British had joined the war in France.

Can anyone add more details, on him, locations, mission, circumstances of death.

Many thanks
