mass take off

Hi,

I wasn't sure what exact subforum to post this in, this one came closest I guess. My apologies if my choice was wrong.

I was wondering whether in the first world war there would be mass take-offs from airfields in the time of the big circusses or whether pilots would rather take of singly and wait for each other in the air ?

Many thanks for any responses.

Wiek
