SPAD VII plans

Does anyone know of a source for accurate SPAD VII (not XIII) plans?. I am an RC modeller looking to scratch build this machine. There are plans and kits aplenty for the XIII mark, but I am unable to find VII plans, either for model building or replica builders. Thanks.............John

Thanks Don, I have a publication on order from them. I'll check again for plans

Thanks WF2. I'm familiar with Kay Bengston's plans and kits, having built a few of them. Aerodrome models are well done but a bit small for this project. I'm looking to build a 1/4 scale gasoline powered model so I need plans with much more detail, i.e. original factory drawings detailing fittings, control components, etc; or well researched replica drawings, as there seems to be no complete and accurate scale model plans of the VII I am aware of. I have the Datafile and several other publications with good quality 1/48 scale plans, but I'm trying to save myself the extra work involved in enlarging and converting them (can you say lazy)...............John

John,

Jim Kiger is currently working on a set of SPAD VII drawings, but he is splitting his time between SPAD VII drawings, Hanriot HD.1 drawings, and restoring his 1953 truck so it may be several more months before he finishes. Amazing, at 81, he has a lot of energy!!

Alternatively, I sell a CD of SPAD VII drawings. These are offered through Pioneer Flight Museum (Kingsbury, TX). Contact me, and I will provide the details.

Plans?

Just visit the Aviation Museum in Richmond, Va. I believe they have an original (SPAD VII).

There is a very nice SPAD VII in Richmond. It is hanging from the ceiling, but there is a theater in the middle of the museum and stairs to get on top which puts you within touching distance of the SPAD. It is a small, but VERY nice collection.

Dale, I have the Wylam books somewhere, good thought.

Re: Richmond,VA, I lived and worked in Hampton for 27 years and flew in and out of Richmond a few times, but never visited the museum (note to self, stop by on your next trip).

Ferguson, The Albatros is close enough to being finished for me to contemplate my next moves. A two seater is definately next, but after that...........? It's still in the information gathering Stage..............John
