Goering's Triplane

Hello Jack,
In Over The Front, Vol. 10, Number 3, Greg VanWyngarden has illustrated Goering's triplane as follows, "Jasta 27 Fokker Dr.I (possibly 206/17), circa May 1918. It bore Goring's standard white cowling, tail, struts and wheelcovers with an otherwise factory finish of 'streaked' camouflage. The original white cross fields were overpainted with solid olive dope during the conversion of the insignia to Balkenkreuze." This on page 237 of above issue. As a sideline, Fritz Loerzer had a triplane with the fuselage in broad black and white vertical stripes. Also both triplanes are illustrated in color in the book Fokker Dr I Aces of World War I, Osprey Aircraft of the Aces No. 40, by Norman Franks and Greg VanWyngarden. Hope this helps. Best regards, Dave.
