Wingnut SE5a finished!

Well, finally it has been finished!

It's been a most enjoyable build. The fit is excellent and so is the quality of the mouldings.

First, take a good look at the engine. After an intensive debate with myself, I chose to put the lid on and hide the Hisso forever ... ...



And here it is, ready for take-off:

I've built this OOB, and have not attempted to improve the vertical tail or other places.
Though I like a little sheen to my WW1 models, it is a little exaggerated here. I think it's from the quite long exposure time I used to improve the depth of field.

The wires
As it turned out, the wiring became a chapter of its own in this build. I have used Radub’s ( RB Productions Store, Scale models and accessories by Radu Brinzan ) flat wires, and these are absolutely beautiful. But they are a little challenging to mount. Man, I have been thinking, and I still am, on how to find an easy way to mount these. I may have to build my Roden SE5a next to make further tests before I try on my Wingnut F2B. I mounted mine on Bob’s Buckles, but I may have to try Radub’s attachment points.

Utterly wonderful! Those wires look terrific, my only criticism is that all your work on the engine is hidden!!

The sheen and the colour of the PC10 finish is excellent. Well done indeed - send some photos to Wingnut for their Customer's Models section!

That is a very beautifully finished model, and excellent photography too. The wires look great. I have the Roden SE5a in my stash but I'm sorely tempted to get the WNW after seeing your model. Thanks for posting!

Absolutely beautiful and very well rigged. A most impressive model.
I have already completed the Roden SE5a but am looking forward to the Wingnuts version. I just completed the Wingnuts LVG, it too is a wonderful kit.
I am now half way through the Roden de Havilland DH-2.

Superb build. The PC10 and CDL is spot on. I really like the look of the flat wires and I agree with you regarding the RB mounting points to go with the wires. My buckles are more in keeping with round section wires.
