Charles Nungesser and Valenciennes.
I've just found out that Valenciennes football ground is named after Nungesser. Does anyone know if there are any statues or plaques to him in the town as Google keeps throwing up the memorial to his death? I'm due to visit soon and would love to see any.

Ah, this explains why a small pin with Nungesser's insignia I bought recently says 'Valenciennes' on it, thanks.

A stele devoted to Nungesser and coli is located at the airport of Prouvy-Denain, just next to valenciennes look at the exact location by clicking on the google earth in this site here==> Aérosteles : Nungesser et Coli Just a small precision Nungesser was born in Paris. Valenciennes was the hometown of his mother-He spent his childhood at valenciennes because his parents divorce .He lived thereafter in St Mande near Paris Cordialement Bruno |
