WNW Junkers J1 - The build

OK, after some lurking time, I will be a little bit more active here...

The Junkers J1, as all the other WNW kits, is a jewel...

For some photos of all the parts, see the WNW site: Wingnut Wings - 1/32 Junkers J.1

I'm beginning with the engine. A nice piece. Just had to use a little bit of Vallejo putty on the front and the rear, at the jointure of the upper and lower part. Just a detail.

Here is an idea of how big is the kit, compared to my... (ot) 1/144th scale Hawker Hurricane MK I

The kit is of course of exceptional quality; but WNW forgot one element on the Benz engine... Guess what?

See below...

Here is it (not glued yet):

the "tube" (sorry, don't know the correct word in English) for the electric wires (one for each face).

Detail found by my friend Osterkamp (another member of the "Belgian Bad Boys"...)
Of course, the kit remains an splendid jewel

Osterkamp came house yesterday and we've worked on the realisation of those parts: first a drawing, then the use of offset foil. The part realised must be folded.

Patience needed, and good nerves... approximatively 15 attempts for 4 useable parts, because when folding the parts broked...

The Austro-Damiler 160/185 & 200/225 hp Engines have the same "Wire Loom" we call it for the ignition wires. It keeps them flat so they dont fly around in the wind, straight so there is the least distance between the spark and the coil so the least amount of voltage loss and organized so they do not over lap and create electro magnaetic interfereance with each other.

Your scratch built piece when glued will go underneath the push rods yes ?

Yours Mike

You have luck with this beautiful aircraft. I understand that very well and that you do not need no improvement.

I have asked the LVG C. VI and I am impatient to arrive.

I will be attentive to your work because I also have in my mind to buy this plane .

Regards,

Miguel M.
