Greetings,
I wish to make a Fokker DVII painted in the colors of ace Georg Von Hantelmann, with it's distinctive death's head insignia.
The book on the Albatros Aces of Osprey depicts Von Hantelmann's Albatros thus decorated, but it seems the skull and crossbones markings were slightly different in his later planes, I've seen his Siemens Schuckert, but haven't had luck finding a picture or profile of his fokker DVII.
Could anybody please help?
Thanks in advance.

If you don't mind looking at a modeling project, check out Steve Hustad's awesome build:

I believe he garnered most of his information from one of the Fokker D.VII Anthology's from Albatros Pubs (the people who do the magazine Windsock). Part one, if memory serves.

Romani:
I disagree with Dave Roberts intrepretation of von Hantelmann's Fok. D.VII 382/18 in Fokker Anthology 1. I must caution Forum readers, it has a lot of errors in it. They were not corrected in later Anthology 2 and 3. For example, the installation of the seat beat belts, ejection of cartridges in Jaunita Franzi cutawy drawing.
1. The location of the fabric seams on the wings are incorrect. The base seam is located on the center-line of the upper wing.
2. The wings were covered with 4 color printed fabric and taped with the same.
Those who are interested, I have my intrepretation in drawing, Js15-50.

Hello Dan,
Pardon my naive question:
What is Js 15-50 and how does one obtain?
Thank you in advance

Romani, e-mailed you scans from the Fokker D.VII Profile I'd forgotten I had, which also answered my own question about the underfuselage! Senility at 47 is very, very bad! LMK if you don't get them, and I'll try again (I'm better at "model" than I am at "computer"). Regards, Rob
