How many flieger-kompanien?
Hello,
I have read that, at the outbreak of war, German Ai Forces consisting in 5 battalions. Did you know how many Flieger-Kompanien form a Flieger-Bataillon? Some text say 4 but other say 3. Many thanks |

The last peace strength for 31 July 1914 included 4 Prussian Flieger-Bataillone with 3 Flieger-Kompanien each (makes 12 Kompanien, among them was 1 Saxon).
Furthermore there was 1 Bavarian Flieger-Bataillon with 1 Flieger-Kompanie and 1 Fliegerschule if I recall that correct without looking at sources. The Bataillone were converted into FEA at the beginning of the war and FEAs did include 4 Flieger-Kompanien later. |
