1/72 Naval figures from Gunthwaite Miniatures

These figures were designed for WWII British naval crew but some of them, particularly the officers, may be suitable for WWI crew in full dress:

Potential for dioramas with Felixstowe flying boats or Short 184s etc?

Hi, Al here from Gunthwaite Miniatures.

Coincidentally I'm presently working on some 1/72 scale RFC/RAF airmen (circa 1918). They will be available later in the year. I'm quite exciting about them because they will be a different from the figures which I've done before and others which are commercially available.

Looking forward to those Al. Any chance you would do some French figures? Could you post me a link to your line?

Thanks!

Warren

Figures look great - 'can use them for RNAS in my latest project.

Hi Warren

The link to my site is above in the first post (click on 'Our Range')

No plans for French airmen at present, but this is one I did a long time ago (more than 25 years ago!) in 1/32 scale:

Welcome to The 'Drome Forum Al

May I suggest some RFC ground crew figures bombing up, swinging prop etc? Any chance of German ground crew? Seated pilots and observers would be great also.

Hi James

Thanks for the suggestions - the group of RFC/RAF figures I'm working on are likely to include some generic groundcrew (overalls and caps), but for now there will not be any 'action' poses.

Unfortunately with limited time available for modelling it's unlikely that I will be producing any German airmen and groundcrew, at least in the forseeable future.

If you are going to use the current Royal Navy figures for WW1, can I suggest that you trim some of the officer's caps to make them smaller and reshape (file/sand or cut) the tops of the ratings caps to make them more typical of the period.

Cheers

Al
