As someone that has never been exposed to gaming...do these planes have any detail to them or are they simply a "representation" of a certain plane?? TIA.

since they're planned to be injection-molded, i expect the detail level to be fairly decent --at least from a gaming standpoint. the type of plane would be obviously distinct, but they may be missing a rivet or two...

i personaly use a "table-view" perspective when judging detail level, ie: how does it look from 2 - 3 feet or so?

many gamers put lots of work into making their minis true models --but when you make/paint/field a dozen or more of a single plane (to make up a squadron, say) and have the same to do with a dozen or more other types (to create a variety of forces with which to play out different scenarios) the desire to spend hours and hours modelling diminishes as the desire to play the game increases. it's really just a matter of personal taste/goals.

cost also rears its ugly head: to pay a company to make a "real" model when you need to purchase scores to use in a gaming environment becomes pretty hard to justify when "good enough" will do. -especially when the potential abuse the models will receive is taken into consideration: gamers are known for their occassional ham-handedness, and the models WILL be handled constantly during play...no point in putting out a museum-quality piece only to see it dropped/squished/doused in soda...

sorry for the ramble...
