Old Hartzell Propeller????

Need Help...............I have a old Hartzell walnut propeller 8'8" in length and would like to know if anyone can help identify the age and the plane it may have been on. The markings on it are:
LN810
LOENING.104 X 84. RH.1.

Hope someone out there can throw me a bone. because I've been all over the internet and came up short.

Thanks look forward to the your responses.

Is it LN810 or LN8-0?

In either case it is post war. Loening Aircraft was formed in 1917 but they did not get an Army contract to actually make airplanes until 1918 and the war was over before they began delivering any. Loening was in business in one form or another until 1933 and Loening aircraft were in the Army and Navy inventories until about 1948. Propellers would have been made throughout that time and even afterwards to supply owners of these aircraft with replacement propellers.

Hopefully someone else can narrow down the dates for your propeller.

Check with Bob Gardner. You can contact him at Aeroclocks. There is an e-mail link near the top of the page.

Thanks for the help

Thanks Jim and SCMc. I will follow up with the tip on contacting Bob Gardner. By the way Jim you questioned the markings; it is LN810 (very clearly marked).

Thanks Ace, you may very well be right. It would eb nice though to find some pictures large enough or clear enough to actually see the propellers flown on a M-8.
